Engage your senses

We love and honor the healing energy of nature.

About the Owner

Kim's passion for massage began in 2006 when she decided to create a more meaningful career with a deeper connection to people. She enrolled and completed a 1,000-hour massage therapy program at Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle, Washington. The program covered a broad range of modalities including Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, sports injury assessment and treatment as well as reflexology, energy work and prenatal massage.
After completing her studies, Kim started and maintained a thriving massage practice in Santa Barbara, California, for 10 years. She's been honing her craft and deepening her ability to connect with clients for over a decade.
In 2018 she brought her talent and passion to the Gunnison Valley. She gathered a team of skilled massage therapists to start Mountain Life Massage and Bodywork and share their common desire to deliver compassionate care through therapeutic massage and bodywork.
Kim has always been in love with nature. She spends her time in Crested Butte hiking and biking, enjoying peace and stillness in the forest, by the river or on a mountaintop. Nature has always been a healing and energizing force in Kim’s life. As a way to support and protect her new environment, Mountain Life Massage and Bodywork contributes 1% of proceeds to open space.

Our Space

We love and honor the healing energy of nature. That's why we created a warm and earthy massage space that integrates various elements of nature to immediately put you at ease. You will be greeted by lush green plants and trees, nature-inspired art, glowing salt lamps and soothing sounds. Our heated table and soft sheets will ensure complete comfort throughout your massage. dōTERRA® infused essential oils will engage your senses upon arrival, inviting you to relax. True to the spirit of Crested Butte, you’ll experience a unique, mystical vibe in our cozy massage studio.

Our Products

We love using Santa Barbara Massage Cream because it has all-natural ingredients: just olive oil, coconut oil and beeswax. We wanted a truly natural cream with a good resistance for deep work and a smooth glide for relaxation work without feeling greasy. There are no added chemicals or preservatives, making it completely safe for you and our therapists.

All of our massages are enhanced with aromatherapy* using dōTERRA® essential oils. We have chosen dōTERRA® essential oils because they have the highest purity level possible. Pure essential oils allow you to reap the full benefits that nature has to offer. They can support, empower and revive you—physically, mentally and emotionally.
* Aromatherapy can be omitted upon request.

Our Values

We believe everyone can benefit from massage therapy. No matter your age, gender, career or lifestyle, your body needs a maintenance plan to keep you pain-free with maximum mobility. In addition to physical well-being, massage therapy is an opportunity for you to digest the mental and emotional stresses of day-to-day living. Just breathe, feel and let go. One of the most important and often unsung benefits of massage is the self-awareness it brings. It helps to create a dialogue between your body and mind. In a fast-paced, high-demand world, we often ignore or block the signals we get from our bodies and minds in favor of getting things done. When you take the time for self-awareness—physically, mentally and emotionally—you stay current and will be better prepared to navigate your path and make choices that empower and nourish you.

When thinking of massage, we like to compare it to home maintenance. A home needs regular cleaning and upkeep for optimal function. Having a weekly or monthly massage is like having a housekeeper for your body. A full-body massage takes care of the superficial tension from the stress of daily living. Sometimes a home needs a repair or remodel, and you need a contractor. So does the body. From time to time, our body needs some skilled detail work. Maybe your hips are tight, causing you to favor one side when you walk. When things get out of balance like that, it usually leads to pain or discomfort. Using a structural focus, massage can help to realign the body and alleviate discomfort. When you enable your body to work the way it was designed, the result is pain-free ease of movement.
